A Florida man allegedly executed his roommate during a petty argument, then spent hours hiding the evidence before police arrived.
A 28-year-old Gulfport man is facing a second-degree murder charge after he allegedly shot his best friend and roommate in the back of the head — reportedly over a dispute about vaping inside the house.
Elisha Christopher Landry was arrested this week in connection with the death of 34-year-old Shaun Allen Hennigh, who was shot on April 17 at their shared home on Tangerine Avenue South.
“My best friend’s shot in the garage” — what Landry allegedly told the 911 dispatcher, more than four hours after the gunshot was heard by neighbors.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Landry shot Hennigh in the back of the head, dragged his body into the garage, and waited over four hours before calling 911. Neighbors reported hearing the gunshot at 12:32 a.m. — but the 911 call didn’t come until 5:04 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found Hennigh’s body already cold, with rigor mortis setting in and dried blood footprints across the garage floor.

Landry’s girlfriend told police the argument started when Landry got angry about Hennigh vaping inside the house. Landry then went downstairs to “check on” his friend — armed with a 9mm handgun.
The two men also had a history of financial disputes. Text messages showed Landry had previously kicked Hennigh out of the home in January over unpaid bills.
Landry is currently held at the Pinellas County Jail without bond. His next court date has not yet been announced.
