Mobile County, Alabama — A deeply disturbing case has shaken a local community after authorities say a 54-year-old man has been arrested and charged in the killing of a mother and her two children inside their home.
According to officials, the incident unfolded at a residence on Auble Moody Road, where deputies discovered the victims in the early hours of April 20 after a concerned family member went to check on them. The visit was prompted by unusual activity noticed through a shared family app, raising alarm among relatives.
When the family member entered the home around 2:30 a.m., they found three victims deceased in separate rooms. Authorities later confirmed the victims as 46-year-old Lisa Gail Fields, her 17-year-old daughter Keziah Arionna Luker, and 12-year-old son Thomas Cordelle Jr. Investigators also revealed that Luker was eight months pregnant at the time of her death.
Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch stated during a press briefing that the suspect, William Graham Oliver, was taken into custody and is facing multiple serious charges, including eight counts of capital murder. These charges include allegations related to multiple victims, burglary, and crimes involving children.
Officials believe the suspect acted alone and had prior familiarity with the family. He reportedly lived just a few miles from the residence. Authorities say he was at the home the evening before the bodies were discovered, placing him within a tight timeline connected to the crime.
Investigators shared that all three victims were found restrained, with their hands bound behind their backs in different areas of the house. Each victim suffered fatal injuries inflicted in different ways, pointing to a particularly violent and prolonged incident.
Despite the severity of the crime, one young child—a toddler related to the victims—was found unharmed inside the home, a detail that has added both relief and further emotional weight to the tragedy.
Sheriff Burch acknowledged the emotional toll of the case, especially given the involvement of children and an unborn baby. He noted that while a motive has been identified, authorities are not releasing those details at this time as the case moves forward through the legal process.
Evidence recovered during the investigation, including items from the suspect’s residence, has helped strengthen the case, officials said. Authorities also noted that while the suspect has a prior criminal history, this is the first time he has faced charges of this magnitude involving violence.
The investigation remains ongoing as law enforcement continues to gather and process evidence. Officials have indicated that more details will likely emerge during court proceedings.
The incident has left the community in shock, with many grappling to understand the scale and nature of the violence that occurred inside what was once a family home.
