A tragic hit-and-run incident in North Sacramento has left one man dead, and authorities are actively searching for the driver responsible.
According to police, officers responded to reports of a pedestrian being struck near Norwood Avenue and Jessie Avenue shortly after 8 p.m. on Saturday evening. When they arrived at the scene, they found a man suffering from severe injuries after being hit by a vehicle.
First responders immediately began life-saving efforts. Despite their attempts, medics later pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Two Vehicles Involved in the Crash
Investigators believe that two vehicles were involved in the collision. However, only one vehicle remained at the location following the crash. The second vehicle — suspected to be directly involved in the fatal impact — fled the scene before authorities arrived.
At this time, police have not released a description of the outstanding vehicle, and the identity of the victim has also not been made public.
