INGLEWOOD, Calif. — A motorcyclist led California Highway Patrol officers on a wild high-speed chase across Los Angeles County freeways and city streets, reaching speeds of 110 mph before pulling a move that nearly turned deadly.
The pursuit began in Baldwin Park and quickly escalated as the suspect tore through traffic on the freeway system, weaving between vehicles at more than 100 mph.
The chase moved south before the suspect exited the 105 Freeway in Inglewood — but instead of slowing down, he ran straight through a red light and veered into oncoming traffic, narrowly avoiding a head-on collision.
Even off the freeway, the motorcyclist showed no signs of stopping. The suspect continued racing through city streets at speeds up to 80 mph, putting pedestrians and other drivers at serious risk.
CHP officers maintained pursuit throughout the chase, which cut through multiple communities across South LA.
It remains unclear if the suspect was ultimately apprehended. The identities of the rider and any charges have not yet been released.
