NASCAR Legend Greg Biffle and His Entire Family Killed in North Carolina Plane Crash — Now Families Are Suing for $15 Million

A devastating plane crash that killed former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, his wife, and two of his children has now led to multiple wrongful death lawsuits — and the legal battle is only getting started.

On December 18, 2025, a Cessna C550 jet crashed near the Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina, killing all seven people on board. Among the dead were Greg Biffle, his wife Cristina Biffle, their 5-year-old son Ryder, and Greg’s teenage daughter Emma, 14. Also killed were Dennis Dutton, his son Jack Dutton, and Craig Wadsworth.

According to investigators, the plane attempted to return to the airport shortly after takeoff due to severe weather. A preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) revealed that the pilot reported a faulty altitude indicator and malfunctioning flight instruments before the crash. The plane struck a set of trees and a runway fence before coming to rest.

Now, the families of the victims are fighting for justice. The estates of Dennis Dutton and Jack Dutton have filed wrongful death lawsuits against the Greg Biffle estate, each seeking $15 million in damages. The lawsuits claim that Biffle, as the owner of the aircraft and GB Aviation Leasing, was responsible for the airworthiness, maintenance, and safety of the plane.

Earlier, the estate of Emma Biffle — represented by Greg Biffle’s ex-wife Nicole Biffle — had already filed a $10 million lawsuit against Greg Biffle’s estate.

The official cause of the crash is still under investigation by the NTSB. As legal proceedings continue, the tragedy has left an entire racing community in grief, and multiple families without their loved ones.
