North Philadelphia Shooting: 19-Year-Old Injured, Suspect Arrested After Late-Night Incident

North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania — A 19-year-old man was injured in a late-night shooting on Tuesday, prompting a swift police response and the arrest of a suspect, according to authorities.

The incident unfolded around 10 p.m. on the 1800 block of North Woodstock Street. Officers who were nearby reported hearing multiple gunshots and immediately moved toward the scene.

When police arrived, they saw two individuals running in different directions. After a brief foot chase, both men were taken into custody. Authorities later determined that one of the individuals was the suspected shooter, while the other was the victim.

The 19-year-old had been shot in the lower back and hip. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he is currently reported to be in stable condition.

Police identified the suspect as a 28-year-old man who was already wanted on multiple outstanding warrants. He remains in custody as the investigation continues.

At the scene, officers recovered a semi-automatic handgun equipped with an extended magazine, along with five spent shell casings, providing key evidence for the case.

Investigators have not yet determined a motive behind the shooting. Authorities are continuing to examine the circumstances leading up to the incident.
