What happens after a school bus crash?
Investigators typically review several factors to understand what caused the collision:
- Traffic patterns and road conditions on the highway
- Weather at the time of the crash
- Video footage and witness accounts
- Driver actions leading up to impact
- Bus maintenance and inspection records
School districts also review their own response — including parent communication, student safety protocols, and how quickly emergency teams were contacted.
The investigation is ongoing. Updates will be shared as more information becomes available.
