HIGH FALLS, New York — If you have been looking for a reason to take a drive through Ulster County this weekend, you just found one.
Brooklyn Sour — also known as Bklyn Sour — has officially opened in High Falls, and the Hudson Valley community is already talking about it.
The bakery is located at 1219 Route 213, tucked inside one of the most charming hamlets in the region. High Falls is already known for its hiking trails, locally owned eateries and natural beauty. Brooklyn Sour fits right in.
From a Home Kitchen to a Community Space
This was not an overnight project.
Brooklyn Sour started as a small home sourdough bakery before growing into something much bigger. As the team describes it on their website, the goal was always simple — “good bread, good coffee, and real connection.”
Back in November 2025, they were sharing construction photos on social media. By December, they were already inviting neighbors to stop by, take a look at the progress and grab something to eat.
Now in May 2026, the doors are fully open — and the community is showing up.
When Can You Visit?
Brooklyn Sour is open three days a week, so plan accordingly.
On Fridays, you can stop in for drinks, baked goods and retail items.
On Saturdays and Sundays, the full bread and bakery spread is available.
Hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on all three days.
It is a short window, so it is worth heading over early — especially on weekends when fresh bread tends to go fast.
What Are People Saying?
The Hudson Valley community has not held back with the praise.
Social media users have been buzzing about the banana bread tiramisu — and yes, it sounds exactly as good as it reads. The fig cheesecake has also been getting attention, along with the chocolate chip cookies.
The overall takeaway from early visitors? Everything is delicious.
For a bakery that has barely been open, that kind of word-of-mouth says a lot.
Worth the Trip
High Falls already gives you plenty of reasons to visit. The D&H Canal Historical Society is nearby, and the views of the Rondout Creek are worth a stop on their own.
Add Brooklyn Sour to the itinerary and you have yourself a solid Saturday morning in Ulster County.
