SKYESVILLE, Md. — Two women are facing multiple felony charges after authorities say they stole more than $11,000 worth of merchandise from Ulta Beauty stores across central Maryland.
According to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a reported theft at the Ulta Beauty store located at 6400 Ridge Road in Sykesville on Dec. 12, 2025, at approximately 1:07 p.m. Store employees reported that two suspects had just fled the scene with a large amount of stolen merchandise.
Suspects Tracked After Fleeing Scene
Before deputies arrived at the Sykesville store, dispatchers relayed that the suspects had left in a black Infiniti. Shortly afterward, an officer with the Sykesville Police Department spotted a vehicle matching that description traveling southbound on Route 32 toward Howard County.
The officer was able to obtain the Maryland temporary registration displayed on the vehicle and shared that information with investigators. Using the registration details, deputies identified a possible address associated with the vehicle in Jessup.
Search Warrant Leads to Major Recovery
Officers with the Howard County Police Department located the suspect vehicle at the Jessup address. Detectives from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded to assist and obtained a search warrant for the residence and associated vehicles.
During the search, authorities recovered more than $11,000 worth of merchandise, including items stolen from the Sykesville Ulta Beauty location as well as several other Ulta stores in the region. Investigators described the thefts as part of an organized retail theft operation.
Suspects Identified and Charged
The suspects were identified as:
- Dasjanae Teona Timmons, 23, of Jessup
- Dahmira Monya Laboo, 23, of Severn
Officials obtained arrest warrants charging both women with theft ranging from $1,500 to $25,000 and organized retail theft, both felony offenses under Maryland law.
Arrests and Additional Charges
On Dec. 17, 2025, the Sheriff’s Office Warrant Unit apprehended Timmons and transported her to Carroll County Central Booking, where she was formally served with the warrant.
Laboo was taken into custody several days later in Severn by the same warrant unit and transported to Central Booking. During the intake process, deputies reported that Laboo was found in possession of items suspected to be Suboxone, a controlled dangerous substance.
As a result, Laboo was additionally charged with three misdemeanor counts related to drug possession, officials said.
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities noted that the investigation remains active, and additional charges or related cases could emerge as detectives continue reviewing evidence connected to other regional thefts.
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office emphasized its ongoing efforts to combat organized retail theft, which has increasingly targeted major retail chains across Maryland and neighboring states.
