Oak Grove Township, Wisconsin — A tragic motorcycle crash in western Wisconsin has claimed the lives of two Minnesota riders after their bikes collided head-on Wednesday evening.
According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 6:13 p.m. on State Road 35 near 1050th Street in Oak Grove Township.
Authorities said a 47-year-old woman from Maplewood, Minnesota, was traveling north on a 2021 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, while a 26-year-old man from Cottage Grove, also in Minnesota, was riding south on a 2022 Harley-Davidson.
The two motorcycles collided on the roadway under circumstances that are still unclear.
Emergency responders rushed both riders to Regions Hospital. The woman was transported by Allina EMS, while the man was airlifted by Life Link Air Care due to the severity of his injuries.
Officials confirmed the woman died the same day from her injuries. The man succumbed to his injuries the following day.
At this time, investigators have not determined what led to the crash. No additional details about road conditions, speed, or contributing factors have been released.
