Baton Rouge, Louisiana — A large-scale drug investigation in Baton Rouge has led to the arrest of six individuals after authorities uncovered a significant stash of narcotics, illegal weapons components, and cash across multiple homes, according to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.
Investigation Leads to Multi-Location Raids
Officials said the case began in March when deputies started tracking a suspected drug trafficking operation. During the investigation, undercover agents reportedly purchased drugs from two suspects, identified as Chase Chevalier, 31, and Derrick Ross, 25, at a residence on Red Oak Drive.
Based on gathered evidence, deputies secured search warrants for three separate properties — Red Oak Drive, Bard Avenue, and Avenue L — setting the stage for coordinated enforcement action.
Arrests and SWAT Operation
Authorities arrested Derrick Ross on Wednesday at Bally’s Casino Baton Rouge. Shortly after, a SWAT team executed a raid at the Bard Avenue residence while additional teams simultaneously searched the other two homes.
Chevalier was taken into custody at the Red Oak Drive property. During the broader operation, four additional individuals — Jamarcus Ross, 28; Michael Chisholm, 37; Dymarco Hills, 30; and Randell Severio, 33 — were also arrested. Officials noted that Hills and Severio were taken into custody on unrelated outstanding warrants.
Large Quantity of Drugs and Weapons Seized
During the searches, deputies discovered a substantial quantity of illegal substances and equipment commonly linked to drug distribution operations. Items seized included:
- Over one pound of fentanyl, estimated at roughly 4,600 lethal doses
- Nearly 15 pounds of methamphetamine
- About 4.5 pounds of marijuana
- Oxycodone and hydrocodone pills
- Drug processing tools such as a 20-ton hydraulic press, scales, and packaging materials
- Two rifles and three handguns
- Multiple 3D-printed handgun components
- More than $21,000 in cash
Authorities emphasized the danger posed by fentanyl, noting that even small quantities can be deadly.
Suspects’ Alleged Roles
Investigators said Chevalier admitted to selling drugs and producing firearm components using 3D printing. He allegedly told deputies that Derrick Ross supplied the narcotics and compensated him with both money and drugs.
Charges and Ongoing Case
All six suspects were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. Chevalier and Derrick Ross are facing multiple serious charges related to drug trafficking and illegal weapons, while others face lesser or unrelated charges.
Officials say the investigation remains active, and further developments may follow as authorities continue to examine the scope of the operation.
