Someone Was Killed in a Memorial Day Crash on Berry Street in Roseville — Here's What We Know

A deadly crash on a busy Roseville street cut short what should have been a holiday Monday, and police are still working to piece together exactly what happened.

Around 11:30 a.m. on Memorial Day, a vehicle and a bicyclist collided on Berry Street between Tiger Way and Reserve Drive. The crash happened near Roseville High School in a stretch of road that was quickly shut down as investigators arrived on scene.

One of the two parties involved did not survive their injuries, according to a Roseville Police Department spokesperson — but police have not confirmed whether it was the cyclist or the driver who died. The identity of the victim has not been released, pending notification of family.

A spokesperson for the Roseville Police Department confirmed that substances were not a factor in the crash.

Berry Street was reopened to traffic later Monday afternoon, according to the Roseville Police Department’s Facebook page. Drivers in the area had been urged to seek alternate routes during the investigation.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No further details have been released.
