3-Year-Old Girl Critically Injured After Apparent Window Fall in Queens

GLENDALE, QUEENS — A 3-year-old girl remains in critical but stable condition after an apparent fall from a second-floor window at a residential building in Queens on Wednesday evening.

According to police, officers responded to a 911 call shortly before 7 p.m. near Myrtle Avenue and 64th Street in Glendale after reports of an injured child found on the concrete outside the building.

Emergency crews rushed the young girl to a nearby children’s hospital, where she continues to receive treatment.

Family members gathered outside the building as investigators worked at the scene. A woman who identified herself as the child’s aunt said she was devastated after learning about the incident and was still trying to understand exactly what happened.

Police taped off part of the sidewalk while officers examined the area and spoke with witnesses. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the window was open or if window guards were installed.

Neighbors described a heartbreaking scene as emergency vehicles filled the street.

One witness said he saw the child lying unconscious while bystanders and first responders rushed to help her before paramedics arrived with a stretcher.

Residents in the neighborhood said the incident left many shaken, with several expressing hope that the little girl recovers quickly.

The investigation remains ongoing.
