Teen Shot Dead During Robbery in Parkland Identified as 17-Year-Old Braylon Daniel Diaz

PARKLAND, Wash. — Authorities in Pierce County are searching for the suspects responsible for the deadly shooting of a 17-year-old boy who was killed during a robbery while walking with his girlfriend Sunday evening in Parkland.

Deputies with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office responded around 7:15 p.m. to reports of a shooting in the 10200 block of Sheridan Avenue South. When first responders arrived, they found a teenage boy lying in the roadway with a gunshot wound.

Deputies immediately began life-saving efforts, but the teen was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators identified the victim as Braylon Daniel Diaz, 17. According to authorities, Diaz was walking his girlfriend home when a vehicle approached them and called him over.

Detectives said several suspects inside the vehicle robbed Diaz of jewelry before shooting him and fleeing the area. Officials believe the attack may have been random.

The shooting has left family members, friends, and community residents devastated as detectives continue searching for those responsible.

On Tuesday, investigators released surveillance footage showing the suspect vehicle believed to be connected to the case. Authorities are asking anyone who may recognize the vehicle or who has surveillance footage from the area to come forward.

The investigation remains active, and detectives continue working to identify the suspects involved in the deadly robbery.

A fundraiser has also been created online to help Diaz’s family cover funeral expenses and other related costs following the tragedy.
