Woman and Teen Injured in Overnight Shooting at Wilmington Apartment Complex

WILMINGTON, Del. — A woman and a teenager were hospitalized Monday night after a shooting at an apartment complex in Wilmington, according to police.

Authorities said officers responded to reports of gunfire at the Paladin Club Apartments in the 800 block of Park Court late Monday. When officers arrived, they found a 44-year-old woman and a 15-year-old teen suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police have not released details about the severity of their injuries and said their conditions were not immediately available as of late Monday night.

The Wilmington Police Department established a perimeter around the scene as investigators worked to secure evidence and interview potential witnesses. Residents were advised to expect temporary road closures in the area and were asked to avoid Park Court while the investigation remained active around 10:47 p.m.

Detectives were seen canvassing the apartment complex and surrounding area, speaking with residents and reviewing any available surveillance footage that could help determine what led up to the shooting. At this time, police have not said whether the victims were targeted or if the shooting was the result of a dispute.

No arrests have been announced, and investigators have not released a suspect description. Police emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and that additional information will be shared as it becomes available.
