An afternoon crash in Escambia County left a food truck employee injured after a pickup truck lost control and plowed into multiple vehicles and a roadside business.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident happened Saturday on County Road 95A near Highway 29, close to a Speed Mart convenience store.
Authorities said a Ram truck was traveling northbound behind a Chevrolet Silverado when the vehicles approached the store. For reasons still under review, the Ram reportedly crashed into the rear of the Silverado. The impact caused the truck to veer off the roadway and into the store’s parking area.
In a chain reaction, the Ram struck two unoccupied vehicles, a utility pole, and a parked food truck identified as Frontera’s Taco and Mexican food truck, which had been set up just north of the store.
An employee working at the food truck was injured during the crash. Officials have not released details about the severity of the worker’s injuries.
The driver of the Ram truck was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for what were described as non-incapacitating injuries. Investigators said he was cited for careless driving, failure to wear a seat belt, and not having proper vehicle registration.
The crash caused temporary disruption in the area as crews responded and cleared the scene. Authorities continue to review the circumstances surrounding the collision.
