According to officials from the Nassau County Police Department, multiple 911 calls were received shortly after sunset reporting gunfire inside the sprawling 900-acre park, a popular spot for families and community events.
What Happened
Authorities say the gathering was organized through social media, drawing a group of individuals to the park after hours. The park had already closed for the day, with gates shut at dusk, when an argument reportedly broke out between two people.
Within moments, the situation escalated.
Gunshots rang out, leaving three individuals struck. Emergency responders rushed to the scene as panic spread among those present.
Victims and Injuries
