Towson, Maryland – A disturbing incident involving young students has raised safety concerns in Towson after a large fight broke out near a school bus stop, leading to criminal charges against multiple minors.
According to the Baltimore County Police Department, the altercation occurred on Monday, April 20, near the intersection of York and Lambourn roads. Authorities said the fight involved students between the ages of 11 and 14 and was significant enough to draw public attention after videos of the incident began circulating.
Officials confirmed that five students are now facing second-degree assault charges in connection with the fight. Despite the seriousness of the situation, none of the minors were taken into custody at the time, as officers focused on contacting their parents or guardians.
The situation escalated further the following day inside Dumbarton Middle School. Police said a second altercation took place during a meeting involving a School Resource Officer. During that incident, a student and a parent reportedly became involved in another physical confrontation with a different student, intensifying concerns about ongoing tensions among those involved.
Authorities also noted that two additional minors under the age of 13 will not face charges due to their age.
Residents in the area expressed shock and concern after witnessing or hearing about the incident. Some neighbors described feeling unsettled by the level of violence among such young children. Others pointed out that groups of students frequently gather near the bus stop after school without adult supervision, raising questions about safety and guidance.
