Armed Robbery at Canton Smoke Shop: Towanda Man Faces Felony Charge, Police Say

A Towanda man is facing a felony charge after allegedly robbing a Canton smoke shop at gunpoint last month, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Joseph Ryan Williams, 24, entered the Canton Smoke Shop on Lycoming Street on January 30 at around 3 p.m., troopers said.

According to Pennsylvania State Trooper Matthew Santiago, Williams was wearing a face mask, black beanie, and gold reflective sunglasses when he entered the store.

Williams allegedly approached store clerk Irnaliz Perez-Batista, placed a small handgun on the counter, and demanded cash.

State police filed a felony charge against Williams following the incident. It is unclear if he has been taken into custody.
