Authorities have taken a suspect into custody following a fatal shooting that occurred Wednesday night in Camarillo, according to local officials.

Police responded to reports of gunfire around 9:45 p.m. in the 2200 block of Ventura Boulevard. Deputies arriving at the scene found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders from the Ventura County Fire Department provided immediate medical assistance before transporting the victim to a nearby hospital.

Despite efforts to save him, the man later died from his injuries.

Investigators quickly identified a suspect connected to the case. The individual was taken into custody without incident, though authorities have not yet released the suspect’s identity. Officials also confirmed that this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
