An attempted murder suspect led police on a tense eight-hour standoff at a Santa Ana motel Sunday before finally surrendering to authorities.
What Happened
According to the Santa Ana Police Department, the man barricaded himself inside the Motel 6 at 1501 N. Harbor Boulevard at around 3:30 a.m. Sunday and refused to come out for nearly eight hours.
SWAT and Negotiators Called In
SWAT officers and crisis negotiators were deployed to the scene and worked through the morning attempting to bring the man out peacefully.
How It Ended
By noon, a woman who was also inside the motel walked out and surrendered to police. Around 12:20 p.m., the suspect himself walked out and was taken into custody without further incident.
