Coroner Identifies Woman Killed in West Chester Ambulance Crash

WEST CHESTER TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Authorities have identified the person who died following a crash involving an ambulance earlier this week in West Chester Township.

The Butler County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Ernestina P. Obeng, 43, of Liberty Township, was pronounced dead at UC Health West Chester Hospital after being transported there for treatment.

Crash Happened on Beckett Road

The collision occurred around 5:40 p.m. Tuesday on Beckett Road in West Chester Township, according to township officials. An ambulance that was returning from a previous emergency run collided with another vehicle at the scene.

A spokesperson for the township said the circumstances leading up to the crash are still being reviewed, and no additional details about the moments before impact have been released.

Multiple People Taken to Hospital

Obeng was traveling in the other vehicle involved in the crash. She and at least one additional occupant were injured and transported to the hospital for medical care. Officials have not released an update on the condition of the surviving victim.

Emergency responders from multiple agencies were seen at the scene shortly after the collision, and traffic along Beckett Road was temporarily impacted as crews worked to investigate and clear the area.

Investigation Ongoing

The Butler County Coroner’s Office and local law enforcement continue to investigate the cause of the crash. Authorities have not indicated whether speed, road conditions, or other factors may have contributed.

No charges have been announced, and officials say further information will be released once the investigation is complete.
