A 37-year-old Detroit man is facing a series of serious felony charges after authorities say he held a 14-year-old girl inside his home for several days and sexually assaulted her.
The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office announced that Ronnell Agee has been charged with four counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, four counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, one count of kidnapping, one count of delivering a controlled substance to a minor, and one count of harboring a runaway.
According to prosecutors, the alleged crimes took place between March 3 and March 10, 2026. During that time, Agee is accused of keeping the teenage girl inside his residence located in the 19400 block of Lindsay Street in Detroit. Authorities allege that the victim was assaulted repeatedly during that period.
Agee was arraigned on March 19, where a judge ordered him to be held in custody. He remains in jail pending further court proceedings.
In a public statement, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy expressed deep concern over the case and emphasized the strength of the young victim. She described the situation as deeply troubling and underscored that such incidents are a painful reminder that crimes against children can occur in any community. Worthy referred to the teen as a survivor, highlighting her resilience in coming forward.
First-degree criminal sexual conduct is among the most severe charges under Michigan law and carries the potential for life imprisonment if convicted. The additional charges, including kidnapping and delivering a controlled substance to a minor, also carry substantial penalties.
Court records indicate that Agee is scheduled to return to court on March 26 for a probable cause conference. A preliminary examination is set for April 2, where a judge will determine whether there is enough evidence for the case to proceed to trial.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to gather evidence and support the victim. Officials have not released further details due to the age of the alleged victim.
Anyone with additional information related to the case is encouraged to contact local law enforcement.
