Easton Man Arrested After $2,100 Pharmacy Theft Caught on Camera — His Accomplice Is Still Out There

A Pennsylvania man is behind bars after surveillance footage helped police crack a retail theft case that went unsolved for months.

Joshua Eugene Ewell, 27, was arraigned by Forks Township Police on May 13 and sent to Northampton County Prison. A judge set bail at 10% of $10,000.

Total stolen from Weis Markets: $2,159.59 — mostly from the pharmacy section.

It started on August 12, 2024, when two men walked into Weis Markets at 3825 Sullivan Trail and cleaned out the pharmacy aisle — then walked out without paying. Store security flagged it the next day and handed video footage to police.

Detectives spent weeks working with area law enforcement to identify the two suspects. Judge Hutnik signed an arrest warrant for Ewell on September 2, 2024.

Ewell now faces charges of retail theft and receiving stolen property. His alleged accomplice has not yet been named or arrested.
