A Warner Robins, Georgia teenager is facing serious charges after allegedly attacking his pregnant girlfriend in a violent domestic dispute last month.
Lucas Hayden, 18, has been charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping of an adult, and criminal damage to property, according to Houston County Sheriff’s Office records.
What Happened
The incident occurred on April 11 in Warner Robins — a city located about 20 miles south of Macon, Georgia.
Officers responded to the couple’s residence after reports of a fight. During the altercation, Hayden allegedly kicked his girlfriend, Ja’Dyia Smith, 18, in the stomach while she was five months pregnant.
Hayden allegedly said “I need to kill the baby” during the attack, according to police.
The Assault
According to the arrest report, Hayden also used clothing and his arm to choke Smith during the attack in their bedroom.
Earlier in the day, Smith had allegedly attempted to run Hayden over with her car multiple times during an argument outside the home.
Arrests Made
Both Hayden and Smith were arrested on April 20 on aggravated assault charges.
Hayden remains in Houston County Detention Center without bond. Smith has since been released from custody.
The case is currently under investigation by the Warner Robins Police Department.
