Gunshots Hit Southwest Atlanta Home, Prompting Gas Leak Check; No Injuries Reported

Emergency crews responded late Wednesday night after a home in southwest Atlanta was struck by gunfire, raising concerns about possible structural and utility damage.

Atlanta Fire Rescue arrived at the residence on Fair Street SW following reports that bullets had hit the property. Shortly after, officials also received information suggesting there may be a gas odor in the area, leading to fears that a gas line could have been compromised.

Firefighters coordinated with gas utility workers to inspect the home and surrounding area for any leaks or hazardous conditions. After a thorough evaluation, authorities determined that no gas leak or immediate threat was present.

Officials confirmed that no one was injured during the incident, and the fire department did not need to take further action beyond the precautionary inspection.

The case has since been turned over to the Atlanta Police Department, which is continuing to investigate the shooting. No information has been released regarding suspects or a possible motive.
