A tragic crash in Long Beach on Saturday evening claimed the life of a motorcyclist after he collided with a parked vehicle along the busy Pacific Coast Highway.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, the incident occurred shortly after 5 p.m. near the 1700 block of PCH. Officers responding to the scene found an adult male motorcyclist with severe injuries resulting from the crash.
Emergency responders quickly transported the victim to a nearby hospital, but despite medical efforts, he later died from his injuries. Authorities confirmed that the identity of the rider has not yet been released, pending official confirmation by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
Preliminary findings suggest the motorcyclist was riding a 2013 Triumph motorcycle eastbound at a high speed when he lost control and struck a vehicle parked along the south curb. Investigators believe speed may have been a significant factor in the collision, though the full circumstances remain under review.
The crash has raised concerns about safety along this stretch of highway, which is known for both heavy traffic and fast-moving vehicles.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has additional information to come forward and assist with the investigation.
The case remains ongoing as officials work to determine all contributing factors behind this fatal accident.
