Man Critically Shot in Lawrenceville Overnight, Police Investigating

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania — A late-night shooting in Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood has left a man fighting for his life, prompting an active investigation by local authorities.

According to Pittsburgh Public Safety, the incident occurred around 12:45 a.m. at the intersection of Butler Street and Stanton Avenue. Officers from Zone 2 were dispatched after receiving reports of gunfire and a man lying in the roadway.

When police arrived, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach. Officers immediately began providing emergency aid until paramedics reached the scene. The man was then rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was taken straight into surgery. Officials say he remains in critical condition.

The area was quickly secured, with crime scene tape blocking off the intersection as investigators began their work. Evidence markers were placed throughout the scene, indicating multiple points of interest being examined.

Units from the Mobile Crime Unit processed the scene, while detectives from the Violent Crime Unit have taken over the investigation. As of now, no arrests have been made, and authorities have not released any suspect information.
