A group of students from The Bronx experienced a frightening incident on Sunday when their bus crashed in the Lake George area of New York, leaving several people injured and prompting an emergency response from multiple agencies.
According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, the bus was carrying 17 students along with six adult chaperones from various high schools in The Bronx. Officials have not yet disclosed the names of the schools or the purpose of the trip.
Authorities reported that the crash occurred when the bus failed to stop at the intersection of Diamond Point Road and Lake Shore Drive. The vehicle continued moving east, veering off the roadway and colliding with multiple objects, including trees, an outbuilding, a boat, and a parked vehicle before finally coming to a stop.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene. The driver and four passengers were transported to nearby hospitals with what were described as minor injuries. However, officials have not confirmed how many of the injured were students.
Support efforts were immediately activated to assist those involved. The American Red Cross provided aid to the students, including food, blankets, and comfort kits to help them cope after the traumatic experience. Meanwhile, the Warren County Office of Emergency Services also played a key role in managing the situation and supporting victims.
Students who were not injured were taken to the Sheriff’s Office, where they received care and were kept safe while arrangements were made.
Officials confirmed that the cause of the crash is still under investigation. More details are expected as authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The situation has raised concerns among parents and school communities, as they await further updates on the condition of the students and the findings of the investigation.
