A 61-year-old Massachusetts man is facing multiple charges after authorities say he pulled a gun during a road rage confrontation in Bellingham on Tuesday evening.
Police were called to Maple Street around 6:45 p.m. following reports of a dispute between drivers that escalated when one of the individuals allegedly displayed a firearm.
According to investigators, officers quickly identified the vehicle involved and alerted neighboring law enforcement agencies. The suspect was later located in Franklin, where officers found him sitting inside his vehicle in the parking lot of a local restaurant.
Authorities identified the man as Stephen Fahey, 61, of Franklin. During the investigation, police recovered a loaded firearm from the vehicle.
Fahey was taken into custody and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a firearm while intoxicated, and disturbing the peace.
He was arraigned Wednesday morning in Milford District Court. Court records did not immediately indicate whether he had legal representation.
The investigation remains ongoing.
