A pedestrian lost their life in a tragic hit-and-run incident Friday night near Six Flags Magic Mountain, according to authorities.
The crash occurred shortly after 8:20 p.m. near the intersection of Magic Mountain Parkway and Tourney Road, less than a mile from the popular amusement park. Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene after receiving reports of a vehicle striking a pedestrian.
Investigators said the driver, believed to be operating a dark-colored pickup truck, fled the scene immediately after the collision. The vehicle was last seen heading westbound on Magic Mountain Parkway before law enforcement arrived. As of now, officials have not released a detailed description of the suspect.
Emergency crews from the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived promptly, but despite their efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim, pending notification of family members. The circumstances leading up to the crash remain under investigation.
