Pompano Beach woman arrested for stabbing a man — neighbors say they never saw it coming

POMPANO BEACH, Florida — A woman who neighbors say was a regular face on the block is now facing an attempted murder charge after a man was stabbed early Monday morning, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.

Dellisha Guadalupe, 25, was taken into custody Monday after deputies responded to a stabbing call in the 1900 block of Northeast 24th Avenue in Pompano Beach.

When deputies arrived, they found a man at the scene suffering from stab wounds.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital and is expected to recover.

Guadalupe was located shortly after and placed under arrest. She now faces a charge of attempted murder.

Crime Scene Tape Stretched the Block for Hours

Neighbors said the scene was hard to miss.

Deputies lined the street with crime scene tape starting early Monday morning. It stayed up until around 4 p.m. — nearly a full day of yellow tape, patrol cars, and unanswered questions for the people who live there.

For a block that residents describe as quiet and family-friendly, it was a jarring sight.

“This Is a Good Neighborhood” — Residents Speak Out

Those who live nearby said they were caught off guard — not just by the stabbing, but by who was involved.

Guadalupe had been seen regularly in the neighborhood. Residents said she never gave anyone a reason to worry.

“There are a lot of kids in the area. This is a good neighborhood, that’s why I live here. I feel safe here, so this is strange for the area,” said nearby resident Sherri Christiansen.

Her words echoed what several others on the street were feeling — a mix of disbelief and unease after waking up to police tape outside their homes.

What Comes Next

Guadalupe is in custody and faces a charge of attempted murder in connection with the stabbing.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office has not released details on the relationship between Guadalupe and the victim, or what may have led to the altercation.

As the investigation continues, residents are left processing what happened on a street they have long called safe.
