Teen Arrested After Armed Robbery Investigation, Held on $1M Bond

Midland County, Michigan – A quiet neighborhood in Midland County was shaken this week after an alleged armed robbery led to the arrest of a 19-year-old suspect now facing a long list of serious felony charges.

According to the Midland County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called Monday evening around 7:49 p.m. to the 5400 block of West Isabella Road in Greendale Township. The call came in reporting an armed robbery, but by the time law enforcement arrived, the suspects had already fled the scene.

Authorities said a 23-year-old man from Mount Pleasant was identified as the victim. Thankfully, he was not physically injured during the incident, though the situation was described as serious and concerning. Deputies immediately began gathering statements from both the victim and a witness, while also collecting evidence at the location.

The case quickly developed the following morning. Around 9:49 a.m. Tuesday, investigators received a tip that led them to an apartment in the City of Midland. Acting on that information, deputies made contact at the residence and took two individuals into custody—one adult and one juvenile. Officials later confirmed the juvenile was released to a parent.

By Thursday, the adult suspect was formally identified as 19-year-old Treshawn Ford. He was arraigned in the 75th District Court and is now facing multiple felony charges. These include armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, several felony firearm counts, carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent, felonious assault, and carrying a concealed weapon.

Authorities confirmed that Ford remains in custody at the Midland County Jail under a $1,000,000 cash or surety bond, reflecting the seriousness of the charges.

The investigation involved coordination between the Midland County Sheriff’s Office, the Midland Police Department, and the BAYANET task force, highlighting a joint effort to quickly respond and move the case forward.

Officials emphasized that the investigation is ongoing, and more details could emerge as the case progresses through the legal system. As with all criminal cases, the charges against the suspect are allegations at this stage, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

This incident serves as a reminder of how quickly situations can escalate and the importance of community tips in helping law enforcement take swift action.
