A disturbing child injury case in Texas has led to the arrest of 36-year-old Bobby Fisher, who is accused of leaving a toddler unattended in a bathtub with scalding hot water and then failing to seek medical care for several days.
According to police in Waco, the incident occurred in November 2025 while Fisher was watching the child. Investigators say he left the toddler alone in the bathroom, claiming he stepped away briefly to get a diaper. When he returned, he allegedly noticed steam coming from the water but did not immediately check on the child or the temperature.
Authorities report that the child suffered severe third-degree burns, with significant skin damage. Despite the seriousness of the injuries, Fisher allegedly chose not to take the child to a hospital, later telling police he was afraid of getting into trouble.
The situation came to light only after the child complained of pain days later, prompting another household member to alert the child’s mother. She then discovered visible wounds and sought urgent medical attention.
During questioning, Fisher reportedly attempted to place blame on the toddler, suggesting she turned on the hot water herself. However, police say his own statements confirmed that the child had been left unsupervised.
Fisher has now been charged with injury to a child and is being held on bond. The case has raised serious concerns about neglect and delayed medical care, both of which can have life-threatening consequences for young children.
