A North Texas man has been arrested after authorities say he removed human remains from a cemetery and threw them over the fence at the FBI’s Dallas field office.
According to police records, 42-year-old Michael Chadwick Fry is facing charges related to abuse of a corpse. Investigators allege he took bones from a cemetery and later told his mother he needed money to rent a moving truck because he “had a body that needed to be moved.” Before officers could respond to her home, he reportedly became upset and left the residence.
The situation escalated when Fry’s sister contacted law enforcement about a video he had uploaded online. In the footage, he is seen throwing a bucket over the perimeter fence of the FBI’s Dallas office. Authorities later confirmed that the container held human bones.
In a separate video, Fry allegedly appeared with a human skull inside his home. He referred to the skull by a specific name, leading investigators to believe it may be connected to the remains discovered at the FBI facility. Forensic testing is underway to determine whether the skull and the bones found in the bucket are from the same individual.
Family members also provided additional information to investigators. Fry’s mother told police that her vehicle’s GPS history showed recent searches for cemeteries. She also noticed a new shovel at their home and said Fry had recently begun locking a shed on the property.
Law enforcement officials stated that this is not the first time Fry has been accused of improperly taking human remains. He was previously linked to the alleged theft of an urn containing ashes from Oklahoma City and is suspected in the removal of a coffin from a mausoleum in Denton, Texas.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to identify the remains and determine the full scope of the allegations.
