Berkeley County, West Virginia — A tragic late-night crash in Berkeley County claimed the life of a motorcyclist after a high-speed collision led to a fire involving two vehicles, according to authorities.
The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. on April 23 along the 10300 block of Winchester Avenue. Deputies from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a serious traffic accident involving injuries and flames.
What Happened
When officers arrived at the scene, they found that a motorcycle traveling northbound at an extremely high speed—reported to be over 130 miles per hour—had veered off the roadway and crashed into a parked pickup truck.

Victim Found at Scene
After extinguishing the fire, responders discovered the motorcyclist at the scene. The individual was pronounced dead shortly afterward.
