A serious head-on collision has left one driver with major injuries in El Dorado Hills, California, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred on Green Valley Road near Lexi Way, a busy stretch in El Dorado County. Two vehicles collided head-on in what CHP is describing as a severe impact — leaving at least one driver in critical condition.

A utility pole was also taken down in the crash, adding to the chaos at the scene and raising concerns about power disruptions in the surrounding area.

Emergency crews responded quickly, and road closures were put in place to allow first responders to work safely at the scene. Drivers in the area faced major delays before the road was eventually reopened.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. CHP has not yet released the names of those involved or confirmed whether alcohol, speed, or distracted driving played a role.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the California Highway Patrol.

This is a developing story. Updates will be added as more information becomes available.
