Maryland is set for a dramatic mix of weather conditions this Easter weekend, with shifting temperatures and periods of rain expected to impact outdoor plans.
Cloudy and chilly conditions continue midweek, especially across eastern and northeastern parts of the state, including the Baltimore region. Light drizzle, fog, and cool winds will keep temperatures in the 40s, with damp conditions likely during the morning commute.
A noticeable warm-up begins Friday as sunshine returns later in the day. Temperatures are expected to climb into the 70s and even low 80s in some areas, though regions near the Chesapeake Bay may remain slightly cooler. A few scattered showers could still develop.
Saturday brings even warmer conditions, with temperatures nearing record highs under partly sunny skies. While most of the day will remain dry, isolated showers or brief thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon or evening.
The biggest concern arrives on Easter Sunday. A cold front moving through the region is expected to bring widespread rain and a few storms, especially between mid-morning and mid-afternoon. Rainfall totals may range between 0.25 to 0.50 inches, offering some relief to dry conditions but potentially disrupting outdoor celebrations.
Following the rain, a sharp drop in temperatures is expected early next week, with some areas likely to experience below-freezing conditions by Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
