A man lost his life Wednesday morning following a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 80 near the Pennsylvania state border.
According to officials, the crash occurred shortly before 10 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-80 in Lackawannock Township, just a few miles from the Pennsylvania-Ohio state line. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and pronounced the man dead.
The Mercer County Coroner confirmed that the victim died from blunt force trauma to the head and chest sustained during the crash. Authorities have ruled the manner of death as accidental.
The victim’s identity has not yet been made public, as officials are working to locate and notify next of kin.
