Long Beach, NY — A 79-year-old man was killed Sunday evening after being struck by an SUV while attempting to cross West Park Avenue in Long Beach, according to Nassau County Police.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 5:23 p.m. on January 11 as a BMW SUV was traveling eastbound along West Park Avenue. Police said the pedestrian, a Long Beach resident, was crossing the roadway when the vehicle struck him.

First responders provided immediate medical aid before transporting the injured man to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
