A major narcotics investigation in Greenwich has resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of illegal drugs, including what authorities describe as one of the largest fentanyl hauls ever recorded in Washington County.
On March 10, officers from the Cambridge-Greenwich Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence in Greenwich. The operation was carried out with assistance from the Washington County Probation Department and Child Protective Services.
During the search, investigators reportedly recovered approximately 295 grams of fentanyl, along with 56 grams of methamphetamine and 22 grams of ketamine. Authorities also discovered packaging materials and a digital scale, items commonly associated with drug distribution activities.
Law enforcement officials believe the fentanyl confiscated in this operation ranks among the largest single seizures in the county’s history. Given the potency of fentanyl, even small quantities can pose extreme risks to the community, making this recovery particularly significant.
One resident of the property was taken into custody and is facing multiple felony charges. These include criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of drug paraphernalia. Officials have indicated that additional charges may be filed as the investigation progresses.
The case remains active, and authorities continue to examine the evidence collected. As with all criminal cases, the individual charged is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
