Authorities say Anthony Davon Apodaca, 31, is now facing a charge of attempted first-degree murder in connection with the April 3 incident, which police describe as an unprovoked act of violence.

The shooting occurred just before 11:45 p.m. near 18th and Stout Streets in downtown Denver. According to investigators, the victim, Nico Francis, was riding a scooter and waiting at a red light when a white SUV pulled up nearby.
