A student from Temecula Valley High School is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon shortly after classes were dismissed.

The incident occurred near the intersection of Margarita Road and Rancho Vista Road at approximately 3:30 p.m., shortly after students had left campus for the day. Law enforcement responded to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian.

When deputies arrived, they found an unresponsive juvenile in the roadway. Emergency medical personnel transported the student to a nearby hospital, where they remain in critical condition.

Authorities confirmed that the driver involved in the crash stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. No arrests have been made, and officials continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
