Boston, Massachusetts — Boston police are actively searching for multiple suspects after two bold, back-to-back armed bank robberies shook neighborhoods in Roxbury and Roslindale on Tuesday. The incidents, which happened within hours of each other, left residents shaken but fortunately resulted in no reported injuries.
What Happened
According to the Boston Police Department, the first robbery took place around 10:11 a.m. at a Santander Bank branch on Washington Street in Roxbury. Investigators say two men entered the bank, pulled out firearms, and demanded money from employees before fleeing the scene.
Witnesses described a tense situation inside the bank, with customers and staff caught off guard as the suspects issued loud commands and threatened those present.
Less than two hours later, a second robbery unfolded at a TD Bank branch on American Legion Highway in Roslindale at approximately 11:56 a.m. In this case, police believe two suspects entered the bank while a third accomplice waited outside in a getaway vehicle.
Suspects and Escape
Authorities say the suspects in both Boston robberies appear to be connected. One of the individuals was seen wearing a black Champion hoodie with white lettering, while another wore a light blue Nike Tech hoodie. Both suspects were also reported to be wearing face masks and gloves.
Police believe the group fled in a blue Toyota RAV4, which was last spotted heading through the Grove Hall area after the Roxbury incident and later seen leaving Roslindale via American Legion Highway.
The use of firearms during both robberies has heightened concern, prompting officials to urge residents to remain cautious.
Witness Experience
One witness, Abraham Bernard, described the terrifying moments during the Roslindale robbery. He recalled the suspects shouting commands and ordering everyone to freeze while demanding money from tellers. He said the experience left people inside the bank visibly shaken.
Separate Incident in Everett
Around 4:30 p.m., police in Everett responded to another bank robbery at an Eastern Bank location. However, officials confirmed that this incident is not connected to the Boston robberies. Two individuals were taken into custody in that case, and officers recovered a firearm and a machete.
Ongoing Investigation
The Federal Bureau of Investigation has joined the investigation through its Violent Crimes Task Force, working alongside local authorities to track down the suspects.
Officials are continuing to review surveillance footage, gather evidence, and follow leads. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the Boston robberies.
Public Advisory
Police are asking anyone with information to come forward and are reminding the public not to approach the suspects, as they are considered armed and dangerous.
The situation remains under investigation, and authorities say updates will be shared as new information becomes available.
