Wild Police Chase Near Almeda Ends With 4 Arrests — One Suspect Is a Teenager

A robbery call late Saturday morning quickly escalated into a high-speed police chase across Houston, ending in a crash near the Museum District and the arrest of four suspects, including a teenager.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded around 11:30 a.m. to an alarm triggered at a location along Northwest Freeway, near a Walmart parking area. Authorities said the alert was linked to a robbery in progress.

Police began tracking a vehicle believed to be connected to the incident, following it along the 610 West Loop. The pursuit came to a dramatic end when the suspect vehicle crashed into a tree near the intersection of Almeda Road and Wichita Street.

Residents in the area described a chaotic scene. One neighbor said she heard sirens before stepping outside to see multiple police vehicles surrounding the crashed car, with officers drawing their weapons as they moved in.

Aerial footage captured officers detaining at least one individual at the crash site. Investigators later confirmed that four suspects were taken into custody.

Police also located a teenager connected to the case at a nearby gas station restroom along South Freeway and Southmore Boulevard. Officers reported finding cash outside the building, which led them to the teen.

Authorities say they are now investigating whether the suspects may be tied to a series of recent robberies targeting grocery store service counters and local banks. The teenager’s exact role remains under review, though officials noted he was found with clothing believed to be linked to the robbery.

The investigation is ongoing as police work to determine the full scope of the group’s involvement.
