A dramatic swing in weather is setting up a classic spring roller coaster, bringing summer-like warmth before a sharp cooldown early next week.
Temperatures are rebounding quickly after a sudden drop, with conditions turning much warmer today and tomorrow. Breezy southwest winds will push highs into the upper 70s and even near 80°F, making it feel more like late spring. Saturday could flirt with record highs as sunshine and gusty winds continue to dominate.
However, the pleasant stretch won’t last long.
Clouds will begin increasing late Saturday, signaling the arrival of a storm system expected to impact the region on Sunday. Rain is likely to move in by mid-morning—around 9 to 10 a.m.—and continue through the afternoon. While early sunrise services may stay dry, most of the day will see steady rainfall and cooler conditions, with highs dropping into the mid-60s.
As the system exits, winds will shift to the northwest, bringing a noticeable drop in temperatures.
Early next week will feel significantly colder. Monday morning starts in the mid-40s, with daytime highs struggling to reach 60°F. Even cooler air follows on Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs staying in the 50s.
There is also a growing concern for frost or a light freeze Monday and Tuesday nights, which could impact sensitive plants.
The good news: this cold snap appears temporary, with warmer temperatures expected to return by the end of next week.
